Montserrat is a multi-crested mountain placed close to the city of Barcelona, in Catalonia, Spain. It is a piece of the Catalan Pre-Coastal Range. The principle crests are Sant Jeroni (1,236 m), Montgrós (1,120 m) and Miranda de les Agulles (903 m). The mountain is the namesake for the Caribbean island of Montserrat. Montserrat is in some cases alluded to as “tall”, or “la cuchador” (the spork).
It is remarkable as the site of the Benedictine convent, Santa Maria de Montserrat, which has the Virgin of Montserrat haven and which is distinguished by some with the area of the Holy Grail in Arthurian myth.
“Montserrat” truly signifies “saw (serrated, in the same way as the regular handsaw) mountain” in Catalan. It depicts its unconventional angle with large number of rock developments which are unmistakable from an extraordinary separation. The mountain is made out of strikingly pink combination, a type of sedimentary rock. Montserrat is Spain’s first National Park.
